Remembrance

Posted on 15th Dec 2023

Our students were, as ever, a real credit to themselves and their community at various local Remembrance Sunday Services on November 12.

In Attleborough, many students had leading roles representing their uniformed organisations such as in Army Cadets, Guides and Scouts. For the Academy, senior prefects took part in the Remembrance Ceremony. Maria laid the wreath, escorted by Jake and Chloe.  Emily and Toby read the poem "In Flanders Fields" and they all marched within the Remembrance Parade. Thank you to Mr Ward for his expertise in training our cohort.

Many students also attended school in the preceding week wearing their various organisations' uniforms to mark respect.  This year, the chairman of the local branch of the Royal British Legion (RBL) kindly delivered assemblies to all students throughout the week to build our younger generation's understanding of the date's significance. Poppies and branded RBL stationery were sold throughout the school - thank you to parents who supported this important cause.
