Year 10 - 12 Trip to the Conflict UEA Conference

Posted on 5th Feb 2024

On 5 February, about a dozen geography students from Year 10 to Year 12 gathered at school to attend a webinar on global conflict, delivered by Dr Ulrike Theuerkauf from the University of East Anglia and Professor Mark Zeitoun from the Geneva Graduate Institute.

The event gave our students the opportunity to place their studies in geography into a broader geopolitical context and discover the relevance and application of geography to pressing contemporary issues. I hope that the event also inspired our students to consider higher education in a related field. We aim to host similar events in the future to raise aspirations and give our students a broader and more nuanced understanding of national and global issues being faced today: students of geography are also students of global citizenship.
