Year 9 First Aid “Confidence to Care”

Posted on 4th Jun 2024

The Year 9 First Aid “Confidence to Care” Programme is in its second year with our skilled external instructor Trudi Innes delivering a detailed course.

Every student in Year 9 received two hours of hands on first aid training where they focused on CPR, Defibrillator use, choking and bandaging. Bringing the total number of students who have completed at least 3 hours of first aid training to over 300.

One of the wider RSHE goals is to create students who are confident to act and confident to care in situations where crisis may happen.

This builds on the Year 7 Red cross course delivered in PSHE classrooms and next year will be expanded to include CPR for Year 8 in PSHE Classrooms.
