Health and Life Sciences Day
Posted on 5th Feb 2025Year 12 Students attended the Health and Life Sciences Day at the University of Suffolk on 5 February. There were a variety of engaging sessions where students learned about careers and courses that they may be interested in post sixth form.
Some of the sessions included Nursing and Midwifery, psychology and psychiatry and Biomedical Sciences. Students attended two sessions each and found them useful and engaging, allowing them to learn more about the professions and pathways that they are planning to follow.
In the afternoon, students attended an NHS careers fair where they discussed careers with a variety of employers and learned about the careers, from first hand accounts to resources for further study. There were a variety of educational stands looking at T Levels and apprenticeships to access a variety of areas of the NHS
Overall, students found the day helpful to further their knowledge of careers within the health sector and were exposed to university life, with some students now considering the University of Suffolk for further study.
